Teatro La Fenice, the start to a new season of operas and concerts
Teatro La Fenice inaugurates the 2019/2020 season of operas, concerts, and ballets on 12 October. The inaugural concert, directed by Alpesh Chauhan with music by Beethoven, is the first taste of a rich calendar. In addition to Teatro La Fenice‘s superb orchestra, choir, and ballet, the program also features the best international performers in opera, dance, and classical music.
Here are the upcoming scheduled events.
For the symphony, Myung-Whun Chung will conduct symphony n. 9 by Mahler on December 5 and 6, while Claus Peter Flor will direct the Teatro La Fenice Orchestra with the Mendelssohn symphonies No. 4 and 5 on December 20 and 22.
The operas selected for the 2019/2020 season (November to January) are Don Carlo by Giuseppe Verdi from 24 November to 7 December; Pinocchio by Pierangleo Valtinoni from 13 to 21 December, and La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi from 4 to 29 January 2020.
Fans of ballet cannot miss Alessandra Ferri and the Hamburg Ballett, presenting Italy’s first ever performance of Duse with choreography by John Neumeier, on 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 February 2020.
