The 76th Venice Film Festival kicks off
From 28 August to 7 September, Venice welcomes its 76th International Film Festival. The renowned Film Festival stars European cinema and major Hollywood productions in a mix of screenings that has been highly acclaimed by critics as well as audiences with great success in recent years. All thanks to director Alberto Barbera’s brilliant intuition to invite big American production houses and provide live streaming.
This year, the red carpet in front of the Palazzo del Cinema on the Lido di Venezia will host Brad Pitt, Scarlett Johansson, Joaquin Phoenix, and Meryl Streep, just to name a few of the great Oscar performers who will be in Venice during the Film Festival.
The program of films includes Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story with Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, Steven Soderbergh’s The Laundromat with Meryl Streep and Gary Oldman, James Gary’s Ad Astra with Brad Pitt, and Todd Phillips’ Joker with Joaquin Phoenix.
The opening has been reserved for the French film La vérité, directed by Hirokazu Kore’eda, winner of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, starring the beautiful and talented Juliette Binoche and Catherine Deneuve.
